These guidelines aim to highlight the risks of biological invasion by species introduced for biofuels production and to provide constructive recommendations on how to prevent the introduction, establishment and spread of invasive species resulting from biofuel developments
Integrated Island Management (IIM), responds to the unique circumstances of small island ecosystems through development of holistic integrated management systems that operate at the scale of ecological, social or physical processes within, and to, islands.

This list of indicators was developed through the Inform project at SPREP for use by Pacific Islands countries (PICs) to meet their national and international reporting obligations. The indicators are typically adopted by PICs for their State of Environment reports and are intended to be re-used for a range of MEA and SDG reporting targets. The indicators have been designed to be measurable and repeatable so that countries can track key aspect of environmental health over time.

The objective of this regional meeting is to build the capacity of the 14 project target countries, with an aim to build an open data community amongst the users of the national data portals and inform outputs. This is intended to improve south-south collaboration, enhance the opportunity for sustainability and increase the feeling of ownership and belonging amongst the project countries.
This will be delivered by real world application of Inform developed processes and tools, focused on a common area to all countries; protected areas.
Practical arrangements for the regional meeting
The Integrated Feasibility Report and Environmental Assessment (IFR/EA) is a study led by the Honolulu District of the Pacific Ocean Division of USACE, with the American Samoa Government as the non-Federal sponsor. It focuses on addressing flood risk in the Tafuna-Leone Plain of Tutuila Island, which is densely populated and vulnerable to frequent flooding due to heavy rainfall, shallow stream channels, and various development-related factors.
In response to climate change impacts like rising sea levels, efforts are being made in the Pacific Islands region to assess and adapt to the effects on mangroves. This includes improving management practices, reducing stress on mangroves, and integrating climate data into land-use planning to minimize risks to coastal ecosystems and human safety.
This document, serving as both the Final Management Plan (FMP) and Final Environmental Impact Statement (EIS), outlines proposed revisions to sanctuary regulations led by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and involves collaboration with the American Samoa Department of Commerce (AS DOC).
